The Tampa Bay Rays placed ace and lefty Shane McClanahan on the 15-day injured list on Wednesday with a left shoulder impingement.
McClanahan was due to start on Tuesday night, but the bullpen session to prepare for the trip didn’t go as planned.
The 25-year-old, who was named an All-Star in his second season with the Rays, was noticeably frustrated when his bullpen session ended.
The Rays had to have a bullpen game with starting Sean Armstrong instead, and manager Kevin Cash worked in the bullpen from there.
