Jimmy Kimmel has addressed the controversy surrounding Quinta Branson lying on stage when he accepted the Emmy Awards on Monday, waiting until he appeared on his show Wednesday night.
“It’s a little early for the interview, after the commercial,” said Kimmel, who pretended to pass out at the awards ceremony with a gag.
“So when you win an Emmy, you know you only have 45 seconds to give your acceptance speech. That’s not a lot of time. Yeah, and someone does — someone a little too long silly.” Are you going to have less time because you’re doing some comedy?” Branson said before requesting airtime for his show for an extra thank you.
Kimmel joked that he had heard about the event in previous years before giving Branson the floor to convey some additional thanks, including the Internet that “brought me up.”
“I’ll be right back with Emmy-winner Quinta Branson!” she said, going broke.
In a seated interview, Kimmel apologized to Branson, who won for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series, for “Abbott Elementary School.”he He admitted that “people were upset” when he didn’t leave the Emmy stage for his speech.
“They said I stole your moment. I definitely don’t want to do that and I think you know that, and I hope you know that. — Jimmy Kimmel
Kimmel then lashed out at the Emmy co-presenters, stating: He drugged me and dragged me out there. And I was unconscious. “
“Good luck to Mike Lindell. — Jimmy Fallon
“For this one, was the FBI tracking him down, or was it just ‘You know? Ultimately, he’s going to Hardy’s. Wait here.'” — Jimmy Kimmel
“Rindell stood his ground at Hardy’s. The Federal Bureau of Investigation got his phone, but said he would have to come back with a warrant if he wanted mushrooms and a Swiss Angus Burger.” He said. — James Corden
