New England Patriots wide receiver Jacobi Myers contributed a touchdown, but the team lost 33-14 to the Chicago Bears Monday night.
Myers made a touchdown catch on a pass from Bailey Zappe, who came in for Mac Jones after the second-year quarterback made three drives in a row. Myers finished with two catches for 34 yards on two targets.

The quarterback controversy in New England got worse when Jones, who started against the Bears after returning from a sprained ankle, threw an interception on his third and final drive. Zappe came in and led the Patriots to two touchdowns on their first two drives before the Bears turned on the jets and scored 23 unanswered points in the win.
Myers was asked about the boiling quarterback situation at Foxborough. .

Later, as fans cheered for Zappe, he was asked mid-game about adapting to a new quarterback.
“It hurts as a man to see someone who worked so hard, even as a football player, get treated that way, but at the end of the day, we’re all trying to provide for our families.” We have to get out there and play with whoever throws it.”
He later elaborated on the remarks, according to. Boston Herald.
“Everyone, even the coaches. The crowd, everything. In my opinion, it was an ugly situation,” Myers said.
Patriots coach Bill Belichick said playing Zappe with Jones was part of his plan. He said Jones was not benched and did not come out of the game due to injuries or interceptions.
Jones said Belichick told him the plan before the game.
