Oakland, CA — School is a community and a common place to build relationships. School is social interaction and learning to become an active member of society.
Most adults believe that school is just for back-to-back learning. They don’t understand what makes us teenagers. They don’t understand that school is where we grow and learn to express ourselves. What we experience is like a mock exam for what comes next.
These pictures show the community and social part of our school, Fremont High School. It shows a shared struggle and growth that can only come from high school. The photos were taken by students at Fremont’s Media Academy during his busy week. Each photo is captioned by a student photographer. There are also quotes where Fremont students share their views on what school means to them. — Kendall Irving, 15, Sophomore
