College football teams in the top 25 are usually well received by the program’s head coaches. But not if you’re Mike Leach.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs broke into the top 25 for the first time in the 2022 season after defeating Texas A&M in Week 5. Mississippi ranks him 23rd in the latest coach polls and AP polls.
“I mostly ignore them,” Leach said when asked to share his thoughts on the team’s rise to the top 25. Via Saturday Down South.

The team has been unranked in both polls since the 2020 season.
Leach continued, “There is no end point in polls. Just worry about what you can control right now. It’s all about putting together the best game plan you can today and practicing the best you can tomorrow. to go.

In September, Leach told backup quarterbacks to ignore external factors during the wedding planning stage.
