The protagonist of the disturbing comedy “Me Time” opens the film with a free-falling flashback. Sonny (Kevin Hart) and his longtime friend Huck (Mark Wahlberg) try to escape from gliding in wingsuits, but a gust of wind sends them plummeting off the side of a cliff. rice field. Huck then dives in and saves his friend from certain death. Sonny was saved, but the movie never shakes off this initial sense of panic.
Sonny is now a stay-at-home mom and his wife Maya (Regina Hall) is a noted architect. Sonny brings too much anxiety into parenting because he fears he’s no match for a skilled spouse. Maya, nervous at her home, offered to take her children on vacation.
Sonny uses his solo time to attend an old friend Huck’s birthday celebration. Together, they indulge in a night of bad-behavior boys’ binge. They break into Maya’s most solicitous client’s home, engage in bacchanal at Sunny’s house, and most egregiously, Sunny lends Huck some of his family’s money.
“Me Time” was written and directed by John Hamburg, and his film is about to include domestic conversations that speak to the lives of domestic men. But this boys’ night out sheds light on the wisecracks, pitfalls, and gags that might make you laugh. The film’s seasoned cast hits the lines for jokes that never come true, giving comedy a swoon.
