New York state’s Republican gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin squabbled with incumbent Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul during a primetime debate on Tuesday over rising crime and the ongoing surge in violence plaguing the state.
Zeldin begins the debate by declaring New York “in danger” because of Ho-chul’s leadership, denouncing policies such as cashless bail, and complacency in his approach to crime, so the New Yorker I feel unsafe.
