Kevin Durant’s relationship with the Brooklyn Nets was the focus of the offseason.
On Monday’s Nets Media Day, Durant was bombarded with questions about his thoughts on the summer. Durant has indicated he’s feeling frustrated and thinking about his legacy after losing in the first round of the playoffs.

“As the season progressed, we realized what happened to our season,” Durant told reporters via SNY. “In and out of the lineup, injuries and a lot of uncertainty put the next four years of my career in question. I had some questions about it, so I reached out to them. [Nets owner Joe Tsai] We moved forward from there. “
Durant reportedly gave Tsai an ultimatum — fire general manager Sean Marks and head coach Steve Nash or trade him. Tsai publicly endorsed Marks and Nash.

“I had a lot of conversations with Steve and Sean throughout the season about what we needed to change as an organization,” Durant said. We all jumped on the same page. We’re all professionals. We know how to adapt and move forward.”
Durant said he wanted to make sure the team was in good standing and everyone was held to the same standard. He said Brooklyn should be built to win games without Durant and Kyrie Irving on the floor at the same time.

Durant, Irving and Ben Simmons are all healthy and ready to play in Brooklyn in 2022-23. The team added TJ Warren and Royce O’Neill in the offseason as well.
