After revamping their roster in free agency and the NFL Draft this offseason, the New York Jets are in trouble again.
Quarterback Zach Wilson was expected to make a big step forward given the team’s investment in the offense, but he collapsed with a non-contact injury in the Jets’ preseason game against the Eagles in Philadelphia.
Wilson snapped under center, scrambled right and started running.
When he cut to the left towards the middle of the field, his right leg appeared to bend and he flew into the turf.

Wilson missed four games last year with a right knee injury. The severity of this injury is unknown.
He left the field on his own but was replaced by Mike White.

Wilson struggled last year, throwing only nine touchdowns with 11 interceptions. He completed his 55.6% of his passes and gained 2,334 yards. However, the Jets selected wide receiver Garrett Wilson with the 10th pick and Brice Hall with the 36th pick.
They also signed offensive lineman Laken Tomlinson and Duane Brown to replace Mekhi Becton. Becton missed the season with a knee injury.

The Jets decided it was doubtful that he would come back, but with the backup continuing to be in the game, it doesn’t seem likely.
Wilson was the second pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
