The January 6 committee has not yet contacted key figures in Cassidy Hutchinson’s explosive testimony, a former Trump administration aide, according to US Secret Service (USSS) officials.
Hutchinson told the Commission last month that on January 6, former President Donald Trump was furious and the USSS would not take him to the Capitol. When he asked for his details to take him there, Trump tried to grab the handle of the president’s car he was riding in, Hutchinson said Ornato told her.
Hutchinson also said that Ornart told her when USSS agent Bobby Engel told Trump to let go of the handle, Trump rushed to him.
However, sources close to Ornart told Fox News that Ornart was shocked when Hutchinson made a claim about the steering wheel. According to the sources, Ornart, Engel, and the driver of the vehicle will be willing to testify to the Commission and elaborate on the description of their own events.

Trump himself denied allegations that Hutchinson made a large number of posts on his social media network, Truth Social.
Still, according to USSS officials, the Commission has not asked Engel, any other USSS agent or Ornart to testify since Hutchinson’s hearing. They are “ready to testify” and “waiting on their phone,” sources said. Fox News is said to have an invitation coming soon. However, it is not clear whether the testimony will be published or behind the scenes.
The Commission did not immediately respond to the request for comment on Monday. The Commission also did not respond to similar requests for comment last week.
