Road trips with children can be difficult, but following this family’s advice can make things easier.
Will and Christine Watson have traveled the country on a refurbished bus with their 3-year-old daughter ROHM since April 2019.
“It’s important to be realistic,” Christine told Fox News Digital about parenting during a road trip. “Sometimes I overshoot. I hope ROHM will be the angel of a 6-mile hike, like” Let’s go on this 6-mile hike. ” point. “
“If they need to slow down and move at their pace, you need to be realistic, slow down with them, and just have compassion,” Christine added. “When you work with them, they will work with you. The kids are very adaptable …. they want to do what you are doing.”

Another thing that can help those “meltdowns” is the entertainment kit that Watsons always has while traveling.
Christine told Fox News Digital that ROHM has toys, coloring books, and an iPad for when “nothing else works” as a last resort.
“Usually we give her some treats before we do that,” Christine said. “Snack is a must.”

Christine said she schedules driving before and after ROHM’s nap time. “Then, at least an hour’s travel time will be her nap.”
The family also limits driving time to a maximum of 4 hours.
“I stop many times during those four hours to get out, stretch my legs, eat snacks, and run around,” Christine said.
She added, “You have to enjoy the journey slowly, and it’s the same as children. You’re going to work around them.”

Christine said ROHM was actually “pretty good”, but of course she’s used to traveling now.
“We got on the bus when she was six months old, so she really doesn’t know anything different,” Christine said. “This is her life, she is very happy, very good and smart. We have no complaints.”
“We’re always telling people that we actually find it difficult to have kids at home,” Christine added, adding that he’s always looking for roaming when visiting friends and family.
“She can’t get out of our sight on the bus, so it’s actually easier to live in a small space with your baby,” Christine said.
