“When you play a hockey game, you have nothing to think about,” said Henrik Sedin. “But for us, we bow down and work every day. We make the most of our talents. That’s what we’re most proud of today.”
Sedin and Luongo are in office in the first year of qualification. Alfredson succeeded in his sixth year, helping to reach the Stanley Cup Finals in 2007 and ending the waiting for a long-time senator captain who spent 17 seasons of his 18-year career in Ottawa.
“It’s a great honor to be able to play this sport for a living,” Alfredson said. “That’s what I would have played for a lifetime of fun. There’s no doubt that it’s perceived this way, but it’s really humble.”
Alexander Mogilney and Jen Botelil have been captaining the Stanley Cup in 2006 and have been taken over for another year, along with Carolina Hurricanes coach Rod Blind Amour.

Alfredson won the Calder Memorial Trophy as this year’s NHL Rookie and has been the face of the Senator franchise for almost 20 years. His Hall of Fame candidate was boosted by a gold medal with Sweden at the 2006 Olympics and a record of goals, assists and the Ottawa franchise in the match.
Each Sedin won the Art Ross Trophy for leading the NHL in scoring, and Henrik won the Hart Memorial Trophy as an MVP in 2010. Third picks, and their chemistry, were well known throughout their careers ended in 2018.
“We’re joking that they know what they’re trying to do without looking at each other,” Alfredson said.

Luongo was part of the Canax team, who made it to the finals in 2011 before losing to the Boston Bruins, the fourth victory in league history.
“It feels surreal,” Luongo said. “I’ve seen and received hundreds of millions of text messages. It’s a really, really humble experience, and the best part of the whole is that I’m the best with two of my favorite teammates so far. Is that you can go with two of the people I know at Henrik and Daniel. It makes me very exciting to participate in it. “
This is the first Hall of Fame class to have no Stanley Cup winner since 2016.
Sallinen was the first Finnish female player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. She won bronze medals at the 1998 and 2008 Olympics and participated in several world championship teams in the meantime.

Elected as a post-mortem builder, Carnegie was a hockey pioneer as a black player in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s, before Willy Olly broke through the NHL color barrier.
“I’m completely overwhelmed by everything. For years, people have worked hard to see my dad recognized,” said daughter Bernice Carnegie. “We are crying or laughing about this.”
