Famous Hollywood actor Harrison Ford, despite being a well-known climate change activist, has been traveling a lot in private jets in recent months.
Ford’s private jet, a multimillion-dollar Cessna Citation Sovereign, traveled about 5,284 miles and emitted about 35 tons of carbon dioxide in less than two months, according to data from ADS-B Exchange and Celebrity Jets.
But Ford regularly attends global climate conferences and calls on individual and government leaders to help reduce emissions and prevent disastrous global warming.
“It’s hard to read headlines like floods, fires, famines, and plagues and tell kids that everything will be okay,” he said. Speech at Nature Conservation Summit Last year in France, “It’s okay. Ford added that younger generations of climate change activists have the energy and conscience to do “what we haven’t done yet.”
“If we don’t stop destroying the natural world, we have no problem,” Ford said. during another speech At the 2020 Global Climate Action Summit.
But Ford’s jets put more carbon into the environment in less than two months than the average American burns every two years and the average person around the world burns every nine years. According to The Nature Conservancy, the average American’s carbon footprint is 16 tons per year, while the average person in the world consumes about 4 tons per year.

Over the past two months, the jet has been flying frequently between Hawthorne, outside of Los Angeles, California; Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and Idaho Falls, Idaho, according to flight tracking data.
The longest flight tracked was the 1,203-mile trek from Wichita, Kansas to Hawthorne. Seven tons of carbon were burned on that trip alone.
A Ford representative did not respond to a request for comment.

But Ford isn’t the only celebrity or climate activist who prefers to travel by private jet over commercial airlines.
Fox News Digital previously reported that Hollywood director Steven Spielberg burned $116,159 worth of jet fuel between June 23rd and August 22nd. Spielberg’s Gulfstream G650 flew over his 17,000 miles and burned at least 179 tons of carbon in that period.

Leonardo DiCaprio has flown in private jets and traveled long distances on yachts while promoting extreme climate measures and financially supporting a nuisance lawsuit against a major oil company. I flew about 8,000 times in a private jet in 2016.
