Former Presidential adviser Peter Navarro refused to comply with the summons issued by the U.S. House of Representatives on January 6, and the government provided a judiciary in connection with two contempts of congressional insults. I refused the transaction.
Navarro’s lawyer, John Lowry, said the government’s offer was “functional.”
“The government has made a functional offer to allow Mr. Navarro to be found guilty and sentenced to prison as a punishment for Mr. Navarro’s punishment for following his instructions from the president. The U.S. Department of Justice has been exempt from testimony and cannot force Congress to testify about the performance of his official duties. The government has so far filed criminal charges against presidential advisers in this situation. It has never been leveled. I am determined to defend myself, “Raleigh said.
