Last month, the Bob Dylan Center opened in Tulsa, Oklahoma, providing researchers with unparalleled access to Dylan’s archives, stripping the layers of his long-held research and composer process. .. And this month, “Lou Reed: Captured Among the Twisted Stars” was held at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts Library. This is the first exhibition drawn from Reed’s archive obtained by the New York Public Library.
Both of these seek to provide a deeper understanding of these rock icons, but also provide an opportunity for alternative stories to emerge. Dylan and Reed have always tended to work carefully on their myths. Now everyone can see the tools behind the scenes.
