The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is “handing out” COVID-19 face masks in exchange for campaign donations, according to a new emailed fundraising appeal.
A DCCC email enlisted supporters with a special mask deal, even though most of the country has moved away from mask-ups. “For a limited time, we’re giving away a special edition face mask to anyone who donates her $15 or more to a Democratic congresswoman. This is our way of showing our appreciation,” read the email.
The mask giveaway comes just days after the CDC updated its COVID-19 guidelines to remove certain restrictions. The new guidance does away with the six-foot social distancing rule, a longstanding recommendation aimed at preventing the spread of the virus.

The DCCC described the new fundraising tactic as an effort to “protect and expand” the current majority in the House and Senate as the heat of the midterm elections approaches.
CDC eases COVID guidance with shift in approach
A recent Fox News poll showed that just 3% of voters identified COVID-19 as the most important issue in their voting decisions this November. Inflation (41%) followed by abortion (14%) were by far the most important issues for most voters, according to the poll.
DCCC did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
