Daniel Snyder, owner of the Washington Commanders, has been scrutinized for avoiding direct hearings with the House Oversight Commission regarding allegations of workplace harassment and financial fraud within the organization.
According to a new statement released Thursday by Snyder’s lawyer Karen Patton Seymour to Congressman Carolyn B. Maloney (DN.Y.), owners first declined direct attendance and then of the Commission. I offered to virtually testify before.
Snyder cited a planned trip to Israel that coincided with a scheduled hearing as the reason for his absence. According to ESPN, the Commission has offered to meet Snyder effectively on July 6th or 8th.

Snyder’s lawyer said the owner followed up by providing a date of July 28 or 29 for the conference call. There was no confirmation on behalf of the Commission regarding the proposed date. Hearings with the house will be held until July 29th.
A spokesperson for the committee responded to a statement by a lawyer on Thursday.

“We did not voluntarily appear at the Commission’s hearing and, after lawyers continued to refuse to accept the service of the subpoena, gave Mr. Snyder’s testimony about the toxic work environment of the Washington Commanders. We are still working on securing it.
“We are continuing to negotiate with his advisor to ensure that the Commission has the complete and complete testimony needed and are considering her latest correspondence.”

“If you have a subpoena, you need to answer the questions raised,” commented David Rapalo, a former staff director of the House Oversight Committee. “If it is voluntary and has not received a subpoena, there is no subpoena.”
The Washington Commanders will begin training camp on July 27th.
