The Arizona Cardinals offense woke up and the New Orleans Saints gave them a couple scores. Cliff Kingsbury’s team earned his third win of the season at Glendale on Thursday night, winning 42-34.
The highlight of the game came late in the first half when Saints quarterback Andy Dalton threw two pick sixes to shift the momentum completely to the Cardinals sidelines.
After seeing Kyler Murray play 13 on the field and Keowntay Ingram rush for a 2-yard touchdown, the Cardinals defense was ready to play. His second play of Dalton’s drive was a pass to Marquez Calloway.
Instead, second-year cornerback Marco Wilson popped out of the air and dove into the end zone to give the Cardinals a 21–14 lead.

Then, five plays later, Isiah Simmons was the only one nearby. When Dalton threw another ball down the middle, he stole it for 56 yards and showed some blistering speed at his linebacker in the middle.
With the Cardinals leading 28-14 at halftime, the Saints couldn’t catch up.
This also took the first goal and started the game. Rashid Shaheed scored his second career touchdown with a 53-yard catch-and-run on the fourth play of the game. Then in the end, despite throwing an interception in his zone, Andy Dalton found his Hill three yards for his catch on the Saints’ third drive of the game, going 14-6. It went in favor of the Saints.

But the Cardinals’ offense also woke up as the team’s top receiver, DeAndre Hopkins, returned from a PED suspension. Marquise “Hollywood” Brown attended her IR on Thursday, so Hopkins needed to step up quickly.
Despite failing to find the end zone, Hopkins finished his season debut with 10 catches for 103 yards.
Murray was efficient with this, throwing 20-for-29 in the air for 204 yards with one touchdown. He also helped Eno Benjamin in the backfield into the end zone for the team’s final touchdown of the fourth quarter, closing out the night with 12 rushes for 92 yards.
Dalton finished 30-for-47 with four touchdowns and three interceptions.
The Saints’ big threat, Alvin Kamara, struggled scoreless as he grabbed 49 yards on 11 carries. Meanwhile, rookie receiver Chris Olave had seven receptions for 106 yards. He was Dalton’s favorite target of the night with 14 targets.
