Alabama is back on top of the world of college football — at least for now.
The Associated Press released its preseason college football rankings on Monday, and lo and behold, the Crimson Tide ranked No. 1. The school received 54 first-place votes.
Reigning Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young is back at center in Alabama. The team also acquired his two key transfers of wide receiver Jermaine his Burton and Tyler his Harrell. Linebacker Will Anderson and safety Jordan Battle are also back on defense.
It will be the sixth time under Nick Saban that Alabama has started the season as a No. 1 ranked team. Alabama started the season No. 1 last season, but ended the year with two losses, including the College Football Championship against Georgia.

Ohio and Georgia ranked second and third.
Ohio State finished last season with an 11-2 record, but will face No. 5 Notre Dame on September 3rd. Ohio State lost Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave to the pros, but CJ Stroud and Jackson Smith had Nigba back on the offense once again.
Defending national champions Georgia are likely to have Adonai Mitchell entering his sophomore season and Stetson Bennett back at center. The team will also bring back tight end Brock Bowers, defensive lineman Jalen Carter, linebacker Nolan Smith and cornerback Keely Ringo.
Clemson (4th) and Notre Dame (5th) ranked in the top five in the poll. The Tigers finished 10-3 overall and ended the 2021 season with a win over Iowa State. Fighting he lost to Oklahoma State in the Fiesta Bowl, as he went 11-2.
Only Alabama, Ohio and Georgia received first place votes.
