Aaron Judge reacts to tying with Roger Maris: ‘Absolutely unforgettable moment’
Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that the judges tied the record with 10 fewer matches than Maris. He hit his 60th home run on September 20 in his 143rd game of the season. Plus, it took Babe Ruth 150 games to do it.
Even in Yankees and baseball lore, the 61-year-old has become a strange phenomenon. Maris hit his 61st home run in his 161st game in 1961. Judge tied the record after his 61st year and may break it later this week at his E. 161st Street in the Bronx.
