Aaron Judge hit his 60th home run of the season Tuesday off Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Will Crow as the New York Yankees came from behind to win 9-8.
Crowe’s offer to the judges was made at a three-to-one count. It was his third home run against the Pirates of Judge’s career, and it came with a good opportunity. Later in the inning, Giancarlo Stanton hit a walk-off homer.

“He did what he had to do with it,” he said of his pitch to the judges. He had a good swing on a bad pitch.”
Crowe was a relatively unknown pitcher when he stepped onto a bump and allowed Judge Dinger. He is in his second season with the Pirates after being the first pick in the second round of the MLB Draft by the Washington Nationals.

Not only is he the bullpen arm of the Pirates, but Crowe is also a distant relative of Yankees legend Red Ruffing. The Baseball Hall of Famer is Crowe’s great uncle.
Ruffing was Babe Ruth’s teammate for the Yankees in the 1930s. He was his six-time World Series champion and six-time All-Star. He recorded his 231 wins and 124 losses, a 3.47 ERA, and his 1,526 strikeouts in his 15 seasons with the Yankees. He played baseball for a total of 22 years, and also played in Boston He Red He Sox and Chicago He White He Sox. Ruffing served in the army in 1943 and he in 1944.
Crowe visited Ruffing’s Shield in Monument Park at Yankee Stadium before the game.

Judges now hit as many home runs as Ruth did in 1927. Judge is also working on his own American League Triple Crown case. He currently leads his AL in home runs, RBI (128), and batting average (. 316).
