The future of Major League Baseball is certainly in good hands.
Arizona Diamondbacks’ Rein Nelson and Houston Astros’ Hunter Brown each made their MLB debuts Monday and looked like veterans.
Nelson struck out seven batters in seven scoreless frames, allowing just four hits and at one point hitting 17 in a row. Brown struck out five when he threw the scoreless ball six frames, allowing three hits and one walk.
according to statistics by statistics, It was the first time in modern times that two pitchers had a scoreless outing with at least five strikeouts each in their MLB debuts on the same day.

Nelson admitted that he was quite nervous leading up to his debut, but calmed down relatively quickly.
“Once I went out and struck first, it was all gone and I played the game I’ve been playing forever,” he said.
Nelson’s 17-straight stretch was so good that even he couldn’t help but find himself doing it.

“I knew I hadn’t had a hit in a while,” he said. “I was out in front of everyone. The fastball wasn’t really squared too much. The off speed was working and a good chase. He threw a few pitches as well. Almost everything.”
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovro said, “I’m proud of him for coming here, slowing the game down and running the pitches.” There was one, but he cleared it up quickly, and you can see he went on the attack and did a great job.”
Brown needed only 79 pitches to break through six.
“He handled it well,” said Astros manager Dusty Baker. “Throwing the first pitch and striking out the first two hitters makes it somewhat easier. He’s been really good. He’s been very good.” It’s just.”

Perhaps even more impressive, both pitchers were under pressure all day. Astros? Only one.
Both pitchers earned their first major league wins in the process.
