Monkeypox: What You Need to Know About the Virus and How to Protect Yourself
Sudan’s health system has fallen prey to long-standing internal conflict, recent political upheaval and international isolation. Coping with new disease outbreaks will be difficult.
The virus originates from primates and other wild animals and causes fever, body aches, chills, and fatigue in most patients. Severe cases may cause rashes and lesions on the face, hands, and other parts of the body.
Smallpox-related diseases were commonly found in parts of Central and West Africa before spreading to various parts of the world.
