A shooting at a Northern California education campus that injured six people was most likely gang-related, officials said Thursday.
More than 30 shots were fired at a campus on Rue de Fontaine in Oakland on Wednesday, Oakland Police Chief Leronne Armstrong said at a Zoom press conference on Thursday.
“That is totally unacceptable,” he said. “I believe this incident is related to groups and gangs. increase.”
He said investigators believe there were two shooters and an accomplice, but there could be more.

The shooting injured two students, a counselor, a security guard, and two other employees. As of Thursday, three victims had been released from the hospital. One was listed as in stable condition and his two others were in critical condition.
The King Estate Campus is made up of a series of schools including the Rusdale Continuing School, Newcomer High School, Beitek Charter School, and Sojourner Truth Independent Studies headquarters. Fox San Francisco report.
The shooter broke into the school entrance and opened fire, the news outlet reported, citing video of the shooting.
“So we don’t know at this time how they got in…we don’t know if the door was unlocked or if it was already open,” Armstrong said. “Those are the things I confirm in my research.”
Armstrong stressed that responding officers used break-in tools to break into all the classrooms and didn’t wait to receive the keys needed to break in.

Classes on campus were canceled Thursday.
Oakland Unified School District spokesman John Sasaki said, “For the time being at least, it will remain closed due to the fact that many damages have to be repaired.
