North Korea has launched its fourth ballistic missile in a week after Vice President Kamala Harris made a mistake during a prepared remark in the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).
The missile was launched toward the East Sea on Saturday, the South Korean military told Yonhap.
It was the fourth missile launched by North Korea in the past seven days.
The provocations came after Harris said on Thursday that the United States had a “strong alliance” with the “Republic of North Korea.”

Harris intended to refer to South Korea’s official name, the Republic of Korea.
“The U.S. commitment to the defense of the Republic of Korea is impregnable and we cannot say we will do everything in our power to ensure that it is meaningful in every way that the term implies,” Harris said. he said when he visited the DMZ.

North Korea also launched two short-range ballistic missiles into the sea within hours of Harris’ departure from South Korea on Thursday.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Wednesday that missile tests are “not uncommon,” adding that it wouldn’t stop Harris from going to the DMZ.

“North Korea, as you know, has a history of conducting these types of tests,” Harris said.
