The Cleveland Browns were able to quickly wash away a dismal loss to the New York Jets with a 29-17 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night.
However, it was a similar scenario to Sunday’s game against the Jets, as the Steelers attempted an onside kick to give Cleveland a 6-point lead. But an offside penalty drowned out the attempt, and the Browns ended the game without a crazy comeback. Collected.
Nick Chubb was the tone-setter on the Browns’ offense. He broke through the Steelers defense and played another great game on the ground. A late touchdown by Chubb made it a two-score game in favor of the home team, ending with a game-high 113 yards on 23 carries.

Chubb had 87 yards and three touchdowns on Sunday against the Jets and totaled 141 yards on 22 carries in Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers.
Quarterback Jacoby Brissett was very efficient for Cleveland, going 21-for-31 for 220 with two touchdowns and no interceptions thrown.
The Browns took the lead in the first half due to a wide receiver Amari Cooper mismatch. His defenders gave too much space near his line on goal and there was a quick slop on money from Brissett for a touchdown.
Cooper finished the game as the leader with 101 receiving yards on seven catches and scored.
Browns’ Anthony Walker JR injured leg, Steelers’ Chukuma Okorafor torn for unnecessary extra effort
The Steelers would soon answer following Cooper’s touchdown, with rookie wide receiver George Pickens making an impressive one-handed catch on the right 36-yard line. It was a catch that recalled Odell Beckham Jr.’s famous catch against the Dallas Cowboys in 2014. It was a touchdown, but Pickens’ grab sent the Steelers to the Browns side of the field.
A few plays later, Nagy Harris ran for 56 yards on 15 carries, caught 9 yards on three balls, and stormed into the end zone to make the game 7–7.
From there it was a back and forth shootout as both teams traded touchdowns again on their next drive.
David Njoku worked his way up the ladder to steal a Brisset pass with 1-1 coverage in the end zone for a 7-yard score. But rookie kicker Cade York, who missed an extra point in the team’s eventual and decisive loss to the New York Jets, missed another point to make it 13-7.
Steelers’ George Pickens makes one-handed catch vs. Browns
Chris Boswell kicked the extra point after Trubisky stormed into the end zone to give the Steelers a 14-13 lead.
However, the Steelers were unable to find the end zone in the second half, and after a Chubb touchdown, it was all the Browns needed to win the division.
The Browns are looking to keep the momentum going in a game against the Atlanta Falcons with a long rest next week.
