The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that anyone with monkeypox abstain from sex.
But the CDC also provided a variety of ways to reduce the risk of transmitting the virus during sex as the country faces an increase in monkeypox infections.
“If you or your partner has monkeypox, the best way to protect yourself and others is to avoid sex of any kind (oral, anal, vaginal) and avoid sex when sick, especially if you have a rash.” The CDC said: “Don’t share towels, fetish gear, sex toys, toothbrushes, etc.”

The CDC has provided advice on when, where and how monkeypox patients can practice safer sex.
“Masturbate together, at least 6 feet apart, without touching each other or touching the rash.” Recommended by CDC“Remember to wash your hands, fetish gear, sex toys and fabrics (bedding, towels, clothing) after sex.”
“Consider covering the rash area with clothing or covering it to reduce skin-to-skin contact as much as possible. If the rash is confined to the genitals or anus, a condom may help. But condoms alone may not be enough: enough to prevent monkeypox.”
Earlier this week, the Biden administration appointed senior officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as White House coordinators for fighting the monkeypox outbreak.

Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra said on Thursday that the country would declare a public health emergency due to the monkeypox outbreak.
Later on Thursday, President Biden said, “We remain committed to the monkeypox response. We will increase vaccine distribution, expand testing, and educate at-risk communities.”
