Dallas Cowboys backup quarterback Cooper Rush engineered an 11-play drive that ended in a touchdown pass to wide receiver Sheedy Lamb, and another 4-play drive that ended in a 44-yard field goal.
Two drives in the fourth quarter gave Dallas a 23-16 victory over the New York Giants. Rush went 21-for-31 in passing for 215 yards and touchdown passing. Rush is undefeated in the starting lineup.

He got praise from Ezekiel Elliott’s star running back on Tuesday.
“Cooper clutch,” Elliott wrote.
Elliot wasn’t the only one to praise Rush. Dallas’ team his owner Jerry Jones also had some good words for the quarterback who was forced into his starting roll when Duck his Prescott broke his thumb in Week 1.

“He’s doing a great job and I know there’s no one more supportive of him than Duck,” Jones said in his weekly radio appearance. Considering the time lost with Dak, if there’s a chance we’ll go on the hunt and get a record that we can survive, it’s the quarterback.
Rush is the only quarterback since the NFL/AFL merger in 1970 to lead a winning drive in the starting fourth quarter or overtime of the first three games.

“I want to keep winning,” Rush said. “As long as I’m there, let’s keep winning. Play smart, trust each other, on both sides of the ball and you’ll be fine.”
