In November, Travel Awaits, a travel magazine for people over the age of 50, published a list of “10 winter resorts and towns that even non-skiers love.”

Below are the top five towns on the Travel Awaits list.

1. Sun Valley, Idaho

According to Travel Awaits, Sunvalley Resort offers luxury accommodation, delicious food, countless outdoor activities, and a “world-class spa.” The resort is also known for its uncrowded ski areas, the magazine reported.

2. Jackson Hall, Wyoming

According to Travel Awaits, besides great skiing at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, downtown Jackson Hole has plenty of shopping, spas and restaurants.

3. Breckenridge, Colorado

According to Travel Awaits, Brickenridge Ski Resort is one of Colorado’s most popular ski destinations. However, Travel Awaits reports that the town of Brickenridge also offers a lot of craft beer breweries, historic buildings, walking tours, shopping and more for non-skiers.

Breckenridge, Colorado is the third largest city on the list of the best ski towns for non-skiers on Travel Awaits.

4. Taos Ski Valley, New Mexico

Travel Awaits reported that Taos, New Mexico has delicious food and “endless galleries and museums” for art lovers. According to travel magazines, nearby landmarks include the Native American community Taos Pueblo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Rio Grande Valley Bridge.

5. Stowe Mountain, Vermont

Besides skiing at Stowe Mountain Resort, there are many things to do for non-skiers. According to Travel Awaits, fat bikes (biking on snowy roads with wide tired bikes) are a popular non-skiing activity. Travel Awaits reported that there are many other activities in the nearby town.
