An Arizona man arrived at a hotel he believed was a Tinder date, but it turned out to be an armed robbery, with the couple stealing his personal belongings and thousands of dollars.
Jose Sandoval Jaquez, 32, and Crystal Hulsey, 33, were arrested in connection with the robbery after several days on the run.
The victim showed up in a room at the Embassy Suites hotel in Phoenix last month after matching a woman named “Sonya” on her Tinder profile, according to Phoenix police.
When he reached the room, Jaques pointed a gun at the victim and demanded his property.

The victim was then ordered to take the suspect to a nearby Chase bank. The suspect left in his car.
“The victim said $900 was stolen from Chase Bank through a drive-thru on Sept. 17, with a total of $3,000 deducted from his account since the initial incident,” the police report said. . FOX10 reported.
A few days later, Jaquez and Halsey were identified as suspects. Authorities say the couple used their real names to book hotel rooms, and the victim used a partial username that investigators were able to match to the suspect’s profile to access Zelle and her Cash App. Provided a bank statement showing that the account was withdrawn.

The pair drove the car to California and Las Vegas, where a Las Vegas cop found the car containing a gray handgun on Sept. 25.
A few days later, Phoenix police found an online escort ad with Hulsey’s phone number and set up a meeting point. When police were waiting for Halsey, they identified her in a Nissan Rogue driven by Jacques at La Quinta Inn.
Police attempted to apprehend the suspect, but the two drove off. Police said Jaquez and Halsey were seen speeding and running on opposite sides of the road.
During the chase, the couple stopped the driver of another car, hijacked it, and drove off.

The chase spread to several cities, and the pair, who were driving on opposite sides of the road, collided with another vehicle. They tried to carjack another car, but were unable to before law enforcement detained them.
Jaquez and Hulsey face multiple charges, including assault and armed robbery with deadly weapons.
