A man who couldn’t book two side-by-side seats on a plane to sit next to his wife was annoyed when his fellow passengers refused to switch seats.

Jay Kloss and his wife, Zoe, were separated after failing to book two seats next to each other in business class on Virgin Australia. Jay was in the aisle and Zoe was sitting on the other side of the plane by the window in the same row.

Business class has 8 seats and there is no middle seat.

Jay posted a video on TikTok detailing the incident and asked followers if he was wrong in asking other passengers to switch seats.

“I wanted to slap him,” he said.

He explained that when he booked the flight, both the other aisle and window seats were occupied. Jay figured he could swap seats with the passenger because they would be sitting in the same seat on the other side of the plane.

“No matter what, me and Zoe are sitting together… wrong,” Jay said.

When the couple boarded the plane, Jay politely said to the man sitting in the aisle seat, “Brother, could you please move so we can sit together with your daughter? It’s her birthday.” said to have asked

“And he just stared at me and didn’t react,” Jay continued. “Then he says, ‘No, he won’t, but he’s going to sit here,'” he said, referring to Zoe’s window seat.

However, Jay explained that Zoe always sits near the window to avoid nausea.

“So he makes us sit on either side of the aisle for no reason. Same seat,” Jay said. “Anyway, I said, ‘Brother, are you sure? Can’t you swap seats with us?'” And he doesn’t respond to me. “

Zoe then sat down in the window seat next to him and asked if there was a problem and if it was her birthday and she wanted to sit with her husband, could she change her seat.

Jay asked a follower, “Am I missing something? Can someone explain what the hell is going on here? We’re in the same seat, just on different sides of the aisle.”

However, the couple ended up sitting next to each other when the person sitting in the window seat next to Jay offered to replace Zoe.

Comments on the video overwhelmingly pushed back opinions that the man should have swapped seats with Jay.

Many users said couples should have reserved seats where they wanted to sit, not assuming the man would give up his seat and serve them, even if it was Zoe’s birthday.
