Democrats are focusing on abortion as a winning strategy heading into the midterm elections, but issues like inflation, jobs and borders matter more to Latinx voters, a new poll reveals.
According to a survey of 1,000 registered Latinx voters by NBC News and Telemundo, only 5% believe abortion is the “most important issue facing the country.”
Polls show that Latino voters are most concerned about the cost of living, followed by threats to democracy, jobs and the economy, and immigration and the border situation.
Even ‘climate change’ and ‘guns’ are more important issues for Latinx voters than abortion, which ranked 7th in the poll.
