Privacy Tip: 5 Ways You’re Being Tracked

1. Travel incognito

When you navigate using Google Maps, your location is saved to your profile. Turn on incognito mode to prevent pop-ups from appearing in Recent Places.

why? Google Maps does not keep your search history or update your location history to include this location.

How to turn on incognito mode on your iPhone or Android:

Open Google Maps, profile picture It’s in the upper right corner.

Tap Turn on incognito mode.

If you use Waze, your username etc. may appear on public maps. Your friends can also see your name and photo. To stop it, you can hide it:

2. Use voice commands

While driving, you should have both hands on the steering wheel and your eyes on the road. It can be difficult when you’re trying to find your way.

Use your voice instead. Start with “Hey Siri” or “OK, Google” and try the following commands:

“Get directions to (insert location).”

“Show me the way home”

“Where are we?”

“How long until I get there?”

“Find a gas station”
